Ria is an excellent teacher who takes time to understand your skill level and work with you to improve from there. She has a very good approach to teaching and encourages you to challenge yourself.
Ria is a very experienced and skilled teacher who goes through a structured course with patience and combines her teaching with cultural learning. Her deep knowledge of both English and Dutch languages, and of British and Dutch cultures, have been wonderful to work with as a student. She can often take a Dutch expression - explain it in both the cultures, which is very useful to feel more at ease with Dutch. Lessons with Ria are relaxed, and a very exciting journey in getting to a point where one can read/write/listen-to and speak in the Dutch language! I highly recommend her!
My siblings and I have been learning Dutch with Ria for the past 2 months. We wanted to start learning Dutch so that we can better communicate with our relatives from the Netherlands, Ria tailors our lessons for this goal. The lessons are structured (following a textbook) but she is always willing to bring in extra activities to supplement the content we have learnt. We particularly love how well Ria teaches the 3 of us on skype. The lessons are interactive and engaging and we all get to practice reading, speaking, and translating. We have thoroughly enjoyed our lessons and look forward to them each week. We would definitely recommend her to anyone else looking for Dutch lessons.
Ria and I have 1 lesson a week over skype, and I am really excited with the results so far. I have tried online courses such as Rosetta Stone and although I learned a little, nothing compares to having a patient teacher to carefully guide me and make me think for myself. Ria encourages you to think for yourself and checks in throughout every lesson make sure your understanding, welcoming questions if you don't. I would fully recommend this talented and kind lady if you are wanting to learn Dutch. I'm quite early on in my lessons but I'm excited to see where I will be in a years’ time looking at how much I have learnt so far.
Ria has gauged my Dutch competency levels well and is providing wonderfully tailored lessons and conversation. I am really grateful!
Ria is a very experienced Dutch teacher; her interpretation of Dutch grammar makes learning Dutch easier! I'd recommend her to whoever wants to learn Dutch! I'm only on 1/3 way of reaching A2 but I can already order food in a restaurant!
Ria Was absolutely fantastic in her tuition, I would absolutely recommend her to anyone else. I personally felt that Ria paid particular attention to my dyslexia as she gave me extra exercises and spent extra time explaining things which I particularly struggled with. I wouldn't hesitate at all in the future if I needed any help with learning Dutch further. She is more than happy to answer any questions that you have, and she will take time to explain so that you fully understand.

Ria is very patient with me and makes sure I understand before moving on to the next exercise. I am enjoying my sessions and feel confident that I will eventually speak good Dutch, I’m only on my 3rd session so I have a long way to go.
